Aside from the fabulous workouts this DVD offers, here are some other reasons why I love it:
The exercise demonstration portion is excellent…
Lauren goes through each move in detail, including the ones that don’t even use a kettlebell…
The DVD includes a joint mobility warm-up and 2 separate workouts…
My favorite aspect of the DVD is the personal touch…
Please visit Lauren’s website, On the Edge Fitness, to learn more about the services she offers and to get yourself a copy of her DVD. You will not be disappointed!

This is Lauren’s first DVD. We give it an unqualified “MUST BUY” rating for any budding kettle-belle. It features a solid instructional section covering 15 primary kettlebell drills. The instruction is crisp, to the point, and easy to follow. You’ll also find a nice joint mobility section for warm up & cool down. Finally, there are 2 follow-along workouts which efficiently combine both strength & cardio.
Lauren has managed to cast kettlebell training in a more accessible, mainstream manner. The graphic design, production, and instruction are instantly appealing to modern women. That’s not to say it is watered down, soft, or girly. Rather, we’d describe the overall theme as Girl Power!

I just finished watching Lauren Brooks’s DVD, “The Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells” and it was AWESOME. I am a big believer of mixing up your program and adding new techniques to shock your muscles….so if you haven’t tried kettlebells yet and are interested in a non-intimidating, female-friendly program, then CHECK HER OUT.

Hi Lauren, I just wanted to write and let you know that I am a recent convert to the Kettlebell workout. I have worked out for years. I love cardio and spend hours a week on the elliptical or the treadmill. I know I need to do weight training but I just hate it. My body was in desperate need of something new and I was willing to give KB’s a shot because of the weight training they naturally provide. I am in my first week and am very motivated. I love your DVD and feel excited about weight lifting the KB way. Thanks much!!
P.S. – I also appreciate a 50 year old in your DVD, as a 49 year old, I am inspired by both of you. Please tell me that she still looks good and that it is possible for even me! Thanks much and have a great day!!

I am a great fan of your program. This coming from a 52 year old lady whose trying to get and stay strong…I want to continue working out to your DVDs which are very good. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hi Lauren,
I really wanted to incorporate kbs into my workouts however none were available locally. I came across your videos a while ago and was really anxious to get them as your instruction on form is probably one of the best out there. I also like your no frills approach as well. Having been to your site, I was able to see how much you’ve helped others whip themselves back into shape and just be healthier on a whole. As soon as the sports store got kbs in, I went out and got Ultimate Body Sculpting and Conditioning Volume 1. Before I did minimum strength training and some pilates. My routine at home was primarily cardio which helped me to lose weight and actually some gain lean muscle. However, I quickly hit a plateau. Diet has always been an issue for me as I love food. Even watching what I ate, I hit the dreaded plateau. I cannot tell you how much your workout has made a difference and how much I enjoy it. I am alternating between 10lbs and 20lbs kbs. In just 2 weeks of primarily doing your workout both the 12 min to start and the 40 minute one and not overeating, I am down 4 lbs. I also feel much tighter in my core and my legs and well all over actually. I really look forward to doing the workout. My closest friend, who is also into working out, is also getting into your workouts as well. It’s really refreshing to see a genuine person put out such a fantastic product. Thanks ever so much.

Hi Lauren,
I have been struggling with finding a workout that fits me for a very long time. Running, yoga, weight training, jumping rope… I’ve tried so many things. Endless cardio bores me, I love weight training but never felt like I was effectively doing it and it didn’t help me lose weight, just get bulky. And I have always had an aversion to workout videos — lame! I have a naturally muscularly dense body and I know I am naturally strong.
I had my daughter 8 months ago and while pregnant so many women told me that they had never been as skinny as when they were breast feeding so I thought the baby weight would melt away. I was so wrong. I gained 55 pounds when I was pregnant and 6 months after having my baby I had still only lost 20 of those pounds. And the same 10 kept coming and going as my body would adjust to my running routine to store fat for the baby’s food. I even tried jumping rope while the baby was napping, and I actually stress fractured BOTH of my knees from it and was on crutches. Can you imagine??? I was truly desperate.
After reading in a few different articles/books about kettlebells being the perfect workout, I started looking for some instrustional videos and of course found you. In 4 weeks I have lost 5+ inches from my waist and I haven’t felt this good in years. I LOVE your workout and I love kettlebells. It is the perfect workout for me. I have so much fun doing it, I can’t wait for the baby to take her morning nap so I can get to work! I have never done a workout that didn’t feel like a chore before this.
My husband noted my accomplishments so far and said to me, “It’s like you’re finally starting to realize that you are beautiful.” Now he wants to start after seeing my results. That is truly what it means to lead my example. So thank you for making this video and not only allowing me to enjoy getting in shape again but also to inspire my husband to do the same. (He gained some baby weight too while I was pregnant…)
Kindest Regards,
South Salem, NY

I have to say that in the past month and a half of using your Sculpt and Conditioning DVD I have seen stunning results in my muscle definition, body fat reduction, general tone and endurance. I am a fan for life, keep it up!

I watched the video at first and was not all that impressed until I actually did the 40 minute workout. This one is a killer and a well coordinated 40 minute workout. The nice thing is you can increase this workout to doubles and heavier kettlebells and keep getting results. I would recommend this video to anyone looking for another effective workout with kettlebells.

Lauren Brooks does a fantastic job showing proper form and technique on getting the most out of your kettlebell workout. There are 2 great workouts on here..a 12 minute one then a more advanced under 40minute. I’m still on the 12 minute and each time has me cursing at the TV! But each time it’s been getting easier and easier as you can feel your body begin to get conditioned to this workout. You really get your heart racing making for good cardio exercise along with strengthening. I’m looking forward to starting the 40 minute workout after mastering the first one. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in looking for a good kettlebell routine workout to follow along to. Lauren really knows her stuff!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am the mom of a 1 yr old and an almost 3 yr old, both C-sections. While I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a few weeks of having each baby, I was never quite as toned as I was before, no matter how much exercise I did everyday. I discovered kettlebells and your DVD in December (the Ultimate Kettlebell workout, green cover). I’ve been exercising with the kettlebells everyday since the beginning of January, and I look great. I can safely say that I look more toned than I did before I had kids. Thank you for the great dvd’s and for being such an inspiration!

Sincerely it is the best! The presentation is direct and personal. The explanations and demonstrations are clear and understandable, especially for old folks who are 80 years old. Thanks for your help and God bless you and your precious family.

Lauren, I purchased your DVD through DragonDoor, and just wanted to drop you a quick note. I really love it, and as a beginner to the Kettlebell world, your DVD has been super challenging yet easy to follow. I love your straight forward style. I have been using weights almost all my life, (started at 12) and I’m 42. I have also always been active, (hiking, biking, running, rollerblading etc.) my whole life as well. I have had a rough time with my health the last 4 years. I am a personal trainer certified since ’99 with ACE, but not a practicing one, for the time being. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism a couple of years ago, which took a couple of years to even find that out, then it has been an uphill battle just to find the right dose of Synthroid. I was one of those people who has always been a healthy lifestyle type, and lean all my life, until this happened. I have since struggled with self-confidence issues. My doc thinks my thyroid started failing due to all the stress I was under a few years back(due to caring for my little mama, who was terminally ill, and then a new baby). Anyway, I really think the Kettlebell training, along with the right dose of Synthroid, is finally helping me work my way back to leanness. Your instruction has been the key for me. I tried Pavel’s DVD first, and obviously he is awesome, but I had trouble following, due to my inexperience. When I got your DVD, I was so happy I was able to follow, yet it is still super challenging! Thanks much, I’ll certainly steer everyone I know in your direction, for Kettlebell in home training! Have a great day, sweetie.
Sincerely,
-Jeanna T

This is a perfect total body circuit workout that you always have time for! There is also a 35 minute gut wrencher that does the job! The DVD counts down visually and and gives you ample warning about what is coming next. It is perfect!

I’m a 40-year old guy from Virginia who has been married 18 years and has two kids…my wife and I have been getting back into shape over the last couple of years, and I got Lauren’s “Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning” DVD after following a link to it from DragonDoor (I got into kettlebells after getting a couple of Pavel’s books). Anyway, it’s just incredible. Even the 12-minute ‘fat blast’ workout is tough; I have my 2 boys working right beside me with their KB’s, and we laugh because Lauren’s such a nice, cute gal but this workout is KICKING OUR BUTTS! My wife’s going to get into it soon, after she recovers from a recent surgery, but she’s really looking forward to it, she says “I want her abs!” I think with Lauren’s DVD, that’s going to be no problem! Thanks again for a great DVD.

Being out of shape, I have been discouraged by other exercise DVDs in the past, feeling like I would never get in decent enough shape to get through an entire workout in good form, so I would give up too easily. I am a very busy mom to an active 3 year old son, with a husband deployed to Iraq, so my time to workout is in very short supply.
I ordered your DVD and bought a very light (7 lb) kettlebell. I started off with one set of the 12 minute workout and after a week progressed to doing it twice through. The 7lb bell felt too light, so I moved up to a 15 lb a couple of weeks later and have started using that with one set of the 12 minute workout. I am still able to maintain good form and feel like I could do another set, so I will start doing it twice through tomorrow.
Again, I want to thank you for your very motivating and inspirational DVD. Including a 12-minute workout was genius because it gives beginners a real confidence boost. After completing the workouts, I feel exhilarated and excited to get stronger and do more. My body feels pleasantly tight afterwards and not so sore that I don’t feel like exercising the next day.

Hi Lauren just wanted to say how much I enjoy your workouts and what they have done for me. Your Vol. 1 was hands down my favorite until I got Vol. 2. I love it, especially the Smoker w/ Finisher. I love the fact that I can do a quick tough workout that produces results in less than 30 minutes. I do have a TRX so I am excited to see what Vol. 3 will bring.
Chris L. –
Hi Lauren!
My girlfriend and I have been using your DVD for a few weeks now and I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy it! The workouts are terrific! The 12 minute workout was surprising tougher than it seemed! The DVD is great and I can’t wait to try out your other videos. Well just thought I’d say thank you and keep up the awesome work!

My husband is a big kettlebell believer and has wanted me to be as much of an enthusist as him. I am a girly girl and wasn’t quite sure how I should feel about kettlebells. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised with this DVD. The instruction was clear, they both look AMAZING, I love the timer and the pace. To me, having two minutes working and one minute of rest is genious and I feel like I am working, but mentally, the workout seems so easy.
I am even happier that I have seen results so quickly. (who am I kidding, my husband is the happiest person, not only did he get me hooked on kettlebells, I am looking pretty good)
Great job Lauren for having this product available. Please do more!!!!

I have been using kettlebells since 2003 and have never had the kind of results with them that I have in just 3 weeks of using this DVD. I had the basic movements and even a workout going because of the instructions from other Dragon Door publications but I never put it together in this format. I haven’t really lost any weight YET but my Husband and I both have noticed major changes in my body. I expect the excess fat will just start melting off soon as I’m definitely becoming more defined and have increased my lean muscle mass. Plus it gives you crazy energy. It’s well planned and easy to follow. I highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for making the perfect, absolutely perfect 15 minute fat blaster. Being I am just starting this was/is a great routine. I do not have to figure out what to do when and how many and the order of progression. I am glad I bought this. I am so glad. I feel like I can achieve a goal because I can do this.

I did Lauren Brooks’ Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells workout for the first time. I was blown away. For as young as Lauren is she is amazing. This is one tough workout that will get your heart rate up and it stays up. You WILL have DOMS the next day. Lauren has perfect form on all the exercises and gives great pointers along the way. The workout format is great as well. This is one workout that will definitely be added to my rotation.

I have your Volumes 1, 2 and 3 as well as the Workshop DVD and I love them. I am currently doing Volume 1 & 2 workouts. I also have the Goddess Workout DVD and From Russia With Tough Love that I don’t use.
I think your DVDs are the best and enjoy working out with you in my workout room and seeing great results.
Bless you for all your hard work, positivity and effort to make these DVDs.

I can always tell when I’ve had a good workout, I sweat like crazy and my body temp rises. I then know that my metabolism has kicked in and I will continue to burn calories long after I’ve finished. This is the case with Lauren’s 40 minute kettlebell workout. I also combine the 12 minute and 40 minute workouts for a real “sweat fest.”

If you’re like me without any convenient KB classes around, you definitely need to get this DVD. I’ve been having to create my own workouts, and needless to say, after a while, it gotten pretty boring. Lauren’s DVD has given me some new exercises and workouts…as well as reminding me of some of the critical techniques I’ve let slip.

I have been using your Ultimate Body Sculpt Vol 1 for about a month now, and I LOVE it! This is my first time with kettlebells, and it is the best workout I’ve ever done. I am 51 years old, and in good shape. Again, love the DVD, look forward to Ultimate 2!

I’m new at kettlebells and have purchased your DVDs V1 and V2 and I LOVE them!! Today I did the 40 min workout of V1 for the second time and it’s a TOUGH and good one, and the Smoker/Finisher on V2, OMG, the name goes perfectly with that one, lol! I was sweating buckets. Wanted to thank you for making some awesome kettlebell DVDs 🙂

I am recently a newbie of Kettlebell and I love love love your workout, the time flies and you make a fun but yet effective workout in the amount of time. I have already referred some friends to your DVD and I know they will love the results as well as your personal instruction. I can’t wait for any upcoming DVD’s. I had been doing other workouts such as Cathe, Firm, Turbo Jam, running, etc I got so tired of the boredom factor, now I wake up and can’t wait to get to a good fun workout 🙂 Thank you.

I have all of your DVDs (except the Baby Bells), and absolutely LOVE them. I have some other Kettlebell dvds that are collecting dust. Not yours. My sister and I do them at least 3 times a week. Can not wait for the next one to come out.

I just wanted to let you know that your kettlebell dvd is my favorite. I bought another kettlebell dvd that was highly recommended and although it’s good, I think the speed of some of the exercises are a bit too fast for me and I walk away with pain in my lower back. I go back to your dvd each time I want to work out with kettlebells.

My sister and I purchased your “Ultimate” workout recently and we absolutely love it! We’d tried other kettlebell videos this year but yours is simply the best. I feel so much better and I feel myself getting stronger each day. I hope you will consider making another video for all exercisers when you get the opportunity.

Lauren, I have never emailed an exercise instructor before until now. Your new DVD, The Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells is the best workout I’ve ever done. I’ve used The Firm original series, the Step, Turbo Jam and none of them compare to yours. This is the most efficient form of exercise I have ever experienced. I am a busy professional and do not have time for 1 & 1/2 hours of exercise, but I can manage 40 minutes or 15 minutes if I’m really pressed for time. I have been using your DVD consistently for about 3 weeks now and I’m already noticing subtle changes in my body. I plan to keep at it and also clean up my eating habits. Thanks for sharing your kettlebell knowledge with us.
Sincerely

Greetings, Lauren!
My sons gave me a 15-pound kettlebell for my birthday last August, and your first Sculpting DVD was the first DVD I purchased to learn how to use the bell. I have really been loving working out with the bell, and your DVD is simply excellent. Sometimes I start the 40-minute workout thinking, “Man, when she gets to those push-ups, squat thrusts, and mountain climbers, I’m just going to do some one-arm rows, or dead lifts, or something else,” but every time, I end up getting down on the mat and doing those exercises I dislike! I like the results I’m getting, too. My arms are noticeably more muscular and toned, and I’m sure my backside is as well, but I just don’t look at that much. HAH.
Keep up the great work, Lauren . . . your DVD has really helped me progress toward my goal of being exquisitely toned and strong!
-Jan, 57 years old and still kickin’ butt!

As kettlebells are becoming more popular in the United States, so are the KB instructors that promote their use for fitness goals. After purchasing most of the kettlebells videos on the market by the professed “big boys” of Kettlebell mania, I can only say that Lauren’s new video stands alone and stands strong. What struck me immediately is that she has the ability to break down a kettlebell exercise and make it extremely user friendly. Her video presence is genuine and straight forward…no bravado or marketing gimmicks. It is perfect for the beginner who may be intimidated by the newness of training with kettlebells or the seasoned kettle bell user. The video is extremely user friendly which is easily followed, especially her narrative as she progresses through each exercise and work out.
I would recommend this video to anyone wanting a foundation in the proper use of kettlebells and training work outs. She is a powerhouse trainer who keeps it simple and keeps it real.

I just got your Ultimate Body Sculpt & Conditioning with KB DVD. I must tell you that it is a a great DVD. My wife and I have recently gotten into KB’s and I have spent a little money collecting DVD’s and books. After watching the DVD and working out I must say that this is an excellent program you have put together. Your explanations are to the point and I feel like everything moves at a perfect pace. I like the options of short and long workouts and you provide a good list of exercises that I can put together.
Finally, I found the DVD I was looking for!
Thank you,

Lauren: Hello! I was lucky enough to trip across your website and ordered your new DVD. I absolutely love it. I have to tell you honestly, that your instruction is by far the most straight forward and easy to follow than any of the other DVDs out there. I’ve tried for years to master some of the basic techniques and have struggled. For instance, I had never ever been taught to do a “clean” the way you taught it, and used to simply accept that bruised forearms went along with the territory. So thank you!
I wish I lived near Southern California, but unfortunately, I’m clear across the country in Washington, DC. Still, I’m thrilled that I learned about you. You really make this workout much more accessible than ever!

Your DVDs have changed my body, especially my legs! I used to have the hardest time finding jeans that fit over my thighs, so I just gave up wearing them. This year, for the first time in years, I went jean shopping and found two pairs of jeans that fit! And, I didn’t even have to spend all day in a dressing room trying on 1000 pairs.
I used to be afraid of “bulking up” if I used heavy weight, but the exact opposite happened using your DVDs. My legs, which used to be my trouble area, have slimmed down and now have great definition. I just love what you and your DVDs have done for me. I’m eagerly anticipating your next DVD!

I recently purchased your first DVD, and am happier than I can express. I am a 44 yr old woman with Psoriatic Arthritis and Spondylosis. I have searched high and low over the years to find a trainer or a DVD that I could actually do without hurting myself. I cannot do any type of jumping, and laying on my back to do exercises is painful. Trainers are afraid to train people with chronic illnesses that need to modify workouts, and most DVDs are high impact cardio, or so easy that you don’t really get a good workout. In researching kettlebell trainers, your name came up repeatedly. Your DVD is done so well and every move is explained in such detail that I had no fear in trying everything. There are of course some exercises I cannot yet do, and am starting with a 10 lb bell, but I truly believe that with your DVD I will get there. I am attempting to strengthen and lose 40 lbs before a hip replacement next year, and am determined to get it done. Thank you so much for creating something that I believe anyone could do. I can’t wait to tell everyone how great your DVDs are.

I’ve been working with your first DVD for about a week now, I love your instruction! You are such a motivator and for that I wanted to thank you for all the work you put into your program and making your knowledge available to people far and wide…Thank you again!

Hi Lauren,
I have been working with kettlebells for 7 weeks, so very new at them. I have your vol 1 & 2 and they will be a challenge for a long time. I have bells from dragon door 10 and 12kg. I have noticed lots of new muscle and even abs! Love the swings. I am 118lb and 5’5″ . I am 43 and have had 3 babies, so I have lots of body fat I would love to shed. Honestly, this is the only workout that I have seen work!! I am SOO glad I found you and your workouts! Never have I seen such quick results from any exercise plan before, and I have done them all, treadmill, gym, step aerobics, jogging. I love your challenging workouts and look forward to swinging my 12kg! Just did the 12 minute 2 times this morning. I hope you make more workout dvds!

I have all the DVDs by Anthony DiLuglio of Art of Strength and I would say this rates right up there with those. I purchased and returned the Goddess workout–I found it boring, tedious, and drab. Though it contained more information than Lauren’s, it is tough to watch. I also have two other DVDs by women, and this is by far the best. I just wish there had been one more long workout included:-) This is an excellent DVD for beginners. I also believe more advanced users can benefit–if nothing else–just to have a “canned” workout on those days you just don’t want to think about what you are doing:-)

Lauren, I am 32 years old and I have been a gym rat and fanatic since I was 18 years old. My first love is for running and I tend to run five to six miles, four to five five days per week. Additionally, I have tried every other cardio workout available from Zumba to kickboxing and I hated them all. I have practiced every from of Yoga out there; I worked with a trainer on and off for a while…but nothing seemed to get my body to where I wanted it to be. I began doing kettlebell workouts at a local studio. I absolutely loved it!!!! However, because the hours offered at the studio did not coincide with my busy schedule, I purchased your video and WOW it put my workout at that studio to shame!!!!! I have to say that you are a complete inspiration. Your workout is so intense and motivating–I feel and see the results already— in just a few weeks time. I always HATED weight training and I can not believe that I love a workout that involves weights!!!! To mix up my workout routine at home, I would love to order other workout videos if you have them available. Please, Please tell me that you have others or others in the works……
Thanks Again,
-Teresa

I am a 48 year old mom with 4 girls ranging from 4th — 9th grade. I have been doing home workouts since the mid 1980’s. Two weeks ago I picked up a kettlebell and DVD and quickly got hooked. I received it yesterday and am very excited to have it — it is the best workout DVD I’ve ever seen and I have had over a hundred!

I bought this DVD because I haven’t worked out since high school. I graduated in 2001 and have 1 child. I miss being in shape and so I thought I’d give this DVD a try. I wanted a program that I could do at home, no dancing or gyrating, just old fashioned working out. I’ve only been doing the 12minute fat blast, but I am ready to cut to the under 40min. workout. Lauren is wonderful and I am motivated every day to workout with her. I am very pleased with my purchase and will write a review once I’ve completed the whole program.

I have just purchased your ” Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells”, DVD, and have been doing it now since I got it at the beginning of March, this has been my first experience with Kettlebells and I would have to say that the results have been immediate, I have found myself within the first week having to constantly pull my jeans up due to your workout, which spoke volumns to me about the positive effects of Kettlebell Training.
I would also like to praise you for your encouragement for other mothers out there, I truly think you are amazing, and have a fantastic strong body, I have a 23 month old boy, and hope to achieve a stronger more toned core and abdomen through using your DVD. I truly cannot wait to purchase your second DVD, and I thought that the conclusion part of the DVD was a very friendly down-to-earth and considerate touch.
Thank you for such an easy to follow, FUN workout.

I have been interested in kettlebells for about a year now but haven’t been able to find any place that offers lessons. The articles I have read strongly suggested lessons from a kettlebell instructor prior to attempting use of kettlebells on my own. I finally purchased your Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning Volume 1 DVD and I absolutely love it! The demonstration section is excellent and the workouts are well planned and challenging! You are extremely motivating and encouraging. My daughter and I have both been doing your DVD w/ a 15lb and have recently ordered a 20lb Ader K-bell! Thank-you so much for being so awesome and I can’t wait to get Volume 2!

I purchased your Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells Volume 1 DVD about 4 weeks ago and I am IN LOVE with this workout! I am 26 years old and have 2 children (2 1/2 years and 1 year) and have been religiously exercising since my youngest’s birth. I quickly shed the “baby weight” but was not getting the tone I wanted…. until I discovered kettlebells. I ordered this DVD following the recommendation of another mom on the CafeMom website and I honestly can’t even put into words how much I love it. I truly feel it has changed my life even in the short time I’ve been doing it. I am excited to workout every day. I’ve never been “athletic” in my life. Always been “thin” but not strong. With this DVD I can feel myself getting toned. I mainly do the 40 minute workout, and on days that i’m feeling particularly energized, I will also do the 12 minute fat blast in addition. An issue I had before was finding the time to exercise considering I’m a stay at home mom with 2 little ones. However, my kids LOVE to watch me do this workout, lol. My older child tries to mirror my moves, and it is so adorable. Anyway, I’m not sure what I can really say that you haven’t heard a million times before, considering your huge fan base. But I just wanted to add my two cents 😉 This is a great workout, the DVD is put together beautifully, and you and your partner (Robin Duncan) are very inspirational. I have to be honest and say that the fact that you two are mothers yourself has inspired me SO MUCH. That fact alone is part of the reason I love this DVD. I hope to purchase Volume 2 in the coming months. Thank you for changing my life and body and inspiring me to better myself. I wish I lived in California so I could get a proper workout in person!! You have a loyal fan in me. I’ve been spreading the word to everyone I know about how much I love this DVD. Thank you so much 🙂 ”

After having done Lauren Brooks’ 3-part Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells DVD series for several months now, I’m still not sick of them. I would highly recommend the series for anyone who is interested in kettlebell training and wants solid at-home instruction as well as awesome workouts. Lauren’s DVDs are no frills but user-friendly, simple but effective, challenging but scalable.
Since there is a lot of variability between the three DVDs in the series, today I’ll just talk about Volume 1. Lauren starts off with some introductory information about getting started with kettlebells, precautions, and other information you typically find in fitness DVD introductions. Lauren also gives advice about kettlebell size here. If you’ve trained with kettlebells before, there’s probably nothing new in the introduction, but for beginners, it’s a good intro.
The next menu item is the kettlebell demo exercises. Lauren demonstrates proper form for 15 kettlebell exercises. I was relatively new to kettlebell training when I started doing this video, and I used Lauren’s demonstrations to get started. I still use it sometimes to double check my form on certain exercises that I don’t do as frequently as others. Here are the 15 exercises Lauren demonstrates in this segment:
1. Deadlifts
2. Suitcase deadlift
3. Kettlebell swing
4. One-handed swing
5. Overhead swing
6. One Arm Clean
7. Front Squat
8. Kettlebell Pushups
9. One Arm Row
10. Russian Twist
11. Pullover to Crunch
12. Mountain Climbers
13. Back Lunges
14. Squat Thrust
15. High Pull, Catch and Squat
Now we come to the best part of the DVD – the workouts! After a brief joint mobility warmup, Lauren gives you two options here: the short workout or the longer one. The first workout is called the “Fat Blast Workout.” This workout is one of my favorite workouts ever. I actually have it memorized. Lauren combines basic kettlebell exercises with bodyweight moves like mountain climbers and squat thrusts. There’s a 30 second rest interval between each set of exercises, with a menu that tells you what’s coming next.
I do have to use a heavier bell to get the most out of this workout, however. If you’re used to working out with kettlebells, I would advise you use at least a 25lb. bell to get the most benefit. It’s a pretty quick workout, and I usually do it 2 or 3 times if my children will let me.
The second workout is a bit more challenging, with longer, more intense sets (and longer rest intervals). Lauren combines the 15 exercises she demonstrated at the beginning of the exercise for a total body workout that runs about 40 minutes. Again, you can increase the challenge here by using a heavier kettlebell.
Another little thing I liked about Lauren’s DVD is that she has snippets about the history of kettlebell training during the rest interval segments. I like learning the historical background of different fitness trends, and the kettlebell legacy is one of the most interesting to me. I checked out a few of Pavel Tsatsouline’s books after doing the DVDs and have enjoyed learning more about kettlebells and the history of the RKC. This is just one more reason Lauren’s DVD is an excellent introduction to kettlebell training.
What I love most about Lauren’s workouts is their simplicity and efficiency. I also like that they’re not overly flashy. Lauren doesn’t pitch your typical fitness instructor cues (“You’re almost there! Get those abs pumping!”), but instead focuses on telling you what you need to hear. I don’t do this DVD when I want a fun workout; I do it when I want a efficient one based on common sense training. And I usually end up having fun while I’m at it.

Lauren,
I became interested in Kettlebells this past fall and with the help of the internet I found your site. I hired a RKC trainer (Yes, there is one in my remote Midwest area!) for a few sessions to familiarize myself with Kettlebell moves and ordered your DVD’s Volume 1, 2 and the Workshop DVD. I now workout with you several times per week and love it! The workouts on the DVD’s are fun but tough and the instruction on all of them is the best! Thanks so much for putting out a great product! I’m really looking forward to Volume 3!

I have owns few kettlebell DVDs with cheaper price. At first I thought UBSC DVD volume 1 seems too pricey when I googled online shopping. I found used UBSC DVD Vol. 1 from ebay that someone offers cheaper price. I fell in love with it immediately and it made my heartrate up. Yours is best then other DVDs. Later, I ordered all and I know it’s expensive but it’s worth it! I’m looking forward to new release.

Just wanted to tell you that you have been an inspiration! I have been working out with Kettlebells for several years but since moving to Orange County I have not been able to find instruction that fits my schedule and have been using your DVD’s. I appreciate that you offer multiple instructional modules as I understand form and technique is everything. I absolutely love your workouts and while was not looking to lose weight I have achieved amazing results in terms of toning and strength. Thanks so much!

First, I want to tell you how much I enjoy your strength and conditioning dvd with kettlebells. I have 100’s of exercise videos – the Getted Ripped series by Jari Love; Chalene Extreme program, Pilates, Yoga and I workout on a TreadClimber – but nothing gets me going like your DVD – I find it very empowering. And your down to earth style and precise cuing is very refreshing!
I am a 47 year old single mother of 3….and I work full time. I am currently only working with a 12 pound kettlebell and it isn’t heavy enough for me so I am going out this weekend and getting a 20 pound.
Lauren – thank you for bringing this exercise to the masses – I really enjoy it and have been telling everyone about it! Hope you come out with another one soon….enjoy your beautiful daughter.
Best,

As someone who doesn’t enjoy treadmill or elliptical intervals, I love how your workout really gets my heart pumping but also makes me feel like my muscles are getting a good workout. The time flies by. I love how it’s structured, just when I think I can’t go any further the 1 minute break comes and I can catch my breath and get ready for the next couple of minutes. I have a large collection of fitness dvds and a lots of weight and cardio equipment at home (I get bored fast plus I’m no spring chicken) and I think I’ve enjoyed this workout more than just about any of the other ones I have. So thank you for that! I hope you sell a ton and I hope you continue to make more (would have loved to have your new one back when I was pregnant and working out). I also liked that there wasn’t a room full of people hooting and hollering and that you did the full workout yourself (the woman that is with you…I’m sorry, I don’t remember her name…is also very motivating. I’m almost her age and she looks amazing.) As someone who is struggling with a middle-aged metabolism, I hope that I am emailing you in a couple of months because I am finally getting my “old” body back thanks to your workouts!!!

I’ve only had this DVD a while and already I’m recommending it to just about everyone who wants to get started with kettlebells, and/or to women who are looking for a quick, efficient workout that builds real-world strength and fitness. Brooks offers a comprehensive introduction to some basic kettlebell movements along with some bodyweight exercises such as pushups, mountain climbers and squat thrusts (aka burpees).
Regina’s Road to Strength –
Seeing each exercise broken down step-by-step and demonstrated was a huge asset to me. For someone that has never picked up a Kettlebell, the step-by-step demonstrations and explanations provided are clear, concise and simple to comprehend. If that were not enough, which is plenty, there follow along workouts that can be done as many times as you can! Moreover, Lauren makes sure to provide modifications for the exercise for varying fitness levels. This means that this DVD can be beneficial to anyone regardless of fitness level or kettlebell experience.

Review: Ultimate Body Sculpt And Conditioning DVD – liftkettlebells.com
“Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.” Too bad that marketing slogan is already taken. It perfectly describes Lauren Brooks’ new kettlebell DVD:
The Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells DVD
This is Lauren’s first DVD. We give it an unqualified “MUST BUY” rating for any budding kettle-belle. It features a solid instructional section covering 15 primary kettlebell drills. The instruction is crisp, to the point, and easy to follow. You’ll also find a nice joint mobility section for warm up & cool down. Finally, there are 2 follow-along workouts which efficiently combine both strength & cardio.
Details
Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells is a single 80 minute DVD. At $40, it is an excellent value for women who want to learn about kettlebell training.
What we liked
Mainstream women are often turned off or intimidated by most of the existing, basic kettlebell DVDs on the market. That is often due to marketing verbiage such as “evil Russian, hardcore, and brutal” which appeals to certain manly men and biker chicks.
Lauren has managed to cast kettlebell training in a more accessible, mainstream manner. The graphic design, production, and instruction are instantly appealing to modern women. That’s not to say it is watered down, soft, or girly. Rather, we’d describe the overall theme as Girl Power!
Brooks herself lends an important flavor to the success of this DVD. She is in incredible shape, with abs popping out all over the place. But, there are lots of women like that in mainstream fitness DVDs. Often those women are too bubbly to take seriously. I think most women will think of Lauren as just one of the girls. Someone you could comfortably dish with on a park bench while watching over the kids. Women will obviously see her ripped body, but won’t be intimidated.
Lauren will be particularly inspiring for new moms. She had a baby before the filming of this DVD and used kettlebells throughout the pregnancy. That credibility will resonate with new and old moms alike!
Production value is very good with multiple camera angles, a nice outdoor set, and an easy to navigate menu system. The workouts will be challenging for newcomers, but not as intimidating as other work-along DVDs on the market. I think that fact will empower more women to keep going with kettlebells. The drills are structured in timed sets (with a convenient timer bar to keep track of progress) with plenty of 1 minute rest periods.
What could have been better
It is hard to find something not to like here. The content is spot on, and that’s the most important part of any beginner kettlebell DVD. Nitpicky, but we would have preferred the DVD to be in a hi-def or at least widescreen format.
Summary
The Ultimate Body Sculpt and Conditioning with Kettlebells DVD (wow, that’s a mouthful!) is perfect for women who want to learn about kettlebell training. Don’t think twice, buy it today.

WoW! Ok so I have a group of friends with whom I have been training while deployed here in Iraq. I had brought with me two 35 pound kettlebells and introduced them to some people who were unhappy with the stale army style of PT that they were taught. So after working with them on the 35 pounders for a while one guy decided to upgrade to a 44 pounder from AOS and I got an Ader bell at 50 pounds. We had (so I thought) progressed beyond the 35 pound weight for sustained workouts. Then, a female friend of mine showed interest and ordered an 18 pound cannonball and I had directed her to your site for some more info. I knew she would be excited about beginning so as a gift I got for her your new DVD. It arrived two days ago. Today, I got my what I thought was a fairly in shape behind handed to me! My 35 pound KB and I thought we’d be supportive and do the 40 minute conditioning workout. It was awesome!! It was for me the perfect change of pace, reps, volume, and circuit style program that apparently I needed to progress to another level. Thank the heavens I had a feeling you would produce a high quality and intense workout so I did NOT take the 50 pound bell! My friend and her 18 pound KB formed a very special bond as well. As she lay on the ground drenched in sweat she looked from me to her kettlebell and stared at it in wonder! Like Ponce De Leon and the fountain of youth finally united! And so, with the help of one ball of iron and your DVD, another believer is born, and one semi-smug male was humbled once again. Awesome DVD, absolutely love it and so does she! Thanks for putting it, we look forward to what lay in the future. From one Army Sergeant and one Specialist—-Thank You!!

I recently started using kettlebells by purchasing videos from another instructor after seeing his “infomercial”. Thank God I discovered Lauren Brooks; she is 100 times better than what I already had. Her instructions are clear, her form (and her partner’s) is excellent, and the DVD is a great production overall. I really appreciated the detailed guidelines (proper weight selection, etc.) and instructions she provided (for 15 exercises) prior to completing any of the workouts. You can tell she knows what she is doing and her personality is great. I was using a 10 pound bell with the other “trainer” but I purchased a 15 pound bell prior to attempting Lauren’s workout; I was so glad I did–it made the workout much more challenging and I felt wonderful afterwards. I have increased my kettlebell weight to 25 pounds for some of the moves and I am looking forward to increasing it even further. I hope Lauren completes another video soon!

I have been doing your dvd’s since the beginning of June. I LOVE IT!!!! I never get bored of doing it, I enjoy doing it, I’m so much stronger (when I first started I could only do every single exercise with 4kg), my cardio endurance has dramatically improved and I feel happier. I currently workout about 3-4 times and week and alternate between the 2 dvd’s depending on how I’m feeling for the day. With the first dvd, I can do both the 12 minute and 40 minute workouts with a 12kg bell.
Thank you again, you’re awesome!

Read many reviews and I decided that I wanted to buy this DVD to learn kettlebells. Lauren is an excellent instructor the section where she demonstrates how to do each exercise is excellent. She wants to make sure your form is good. I started with a 15lb KB within two weeks I bought a 20lb. KB. I started this workout Jan 15, 2014. The 15lb was good to learn the form, but after two weeks it wasn’t enough so I went to the 20. This week I started using 25lb KB this should do for a little while. Each time I increase the weight It changes the exercises. Lauren does two exercises and then takes a break. I didn’t like that at first, but after upping my weight I began to appreciate those breaks. I do the joint mobility before and after the workout and that makes the workout last about 52mins. There is a very short 12 min workout I’ve done that once it’s too short when I workout I want to get it on. I will buy Lauren’s other workouts. Many complain that her DVD’s are expensive and they are but I think they are worth it. Cheaper than a personal trainer. I like her pace she knows what she’s doing, and she’s not all happy happy, she’s all about business.

I’ve done the main workout twice now and I can see that it will be a favorite. The 40 minute length is slightly longer than the Skogg/Sarah Lurie workouts (30-32 mins) that have been my mainstays for the past 18 months. There is more of an interval format with 1 minute rests between the 2 minute workouts. This is a nice break in the beginning rounds of the workout but almost not enough during the last few rounds, where my heart felt like it was thumping out of my chest. I use a KB that is 1/5 of my bodyweight so that is nice and heavy, I could not press any more than that. If you see any reviews that the workout is too easy, those persons are not using heavy enough kettlebells. I’ve already ordered Vol 2, for additional variety.
It’s not glitzy, but I don’t need glitz when I am concentrating everything on finishing the 2 minute rounds. I like that she cues verbally to switch sides in 3 seconds and I don’t have to watch the tape to know when to do it. I like the few bodyweight segments intermixed, it makes for a well rounded workout.
In general, I have found that I like workouts that start at light to medium intensity and ramp up to heart pounding and sweating half way through to the end. The Bob Harper ones are fun but a bit too tough and long. The RKS ones are in general too short (15 mins avg) you can certainly do 2 back to back. I tried AOS Santa Monica but that didn’t quite take with me, not sure why.
In summary, happy I finally got this and it will be thrown into my Skogg/Lurie rotation.

This DVD is expensive, but its still less than 2 kettlebell classes/workshops if you have a studio in your area. I think it is worth it because I trust Lauren’s training and instruction. And I can do it over and over on my own time. Plus this DVD gives me some visual instruction to go with Laruen’s book, which has TONS of workouts and is a much easier intro to a full workout. I’ll probably use the DVD as visual for some moves, do the beginning workouts from her book, and then move onto this when I can handle it & don’t want to think through following the book.
Plus if you are a REAL beginner (like me) you can do it in the privacy of your own home without embarrassing yourself about how out of shape you are. Seriously. Just going through one round of the instruction moves was a workout for me. I’ll admit it!!! I tried it with a 15 pound bell and just that got a full body sweat. If you are like me (a 10 hour a day computer worker) who has barely above a hospital patient level of activity, start with a 10 pound bell (for a woman). She says start with 15-18 but that will kill you. Get this cheap one here or from Target: Reebok Kettlebellthen move up. Even a 10 pounder will leave you sore for a week until you progress, which is what I have been using for her book workouts.
Downsides: the video quality is low (think VHS) and the music reminds me of someone in college who just learned how to mix beats on their computer lol.

I really learned what I know about Kettlebells from this DVD. It’s excellent for a beginner. Recently I’ve come back to it for the 12 min fat-burning routine which I do twice. The sweat just drips. I also use the joint mobility warm- up for other workouts or when I need to get the kinks out.
